Gloucester: Voluntary Bird Helpers
In preparation for the opening of the Barn Owl Centre as a Public Visiting Centre, we are now looking to recruit on a voluntary basis, fit, thoughtful & caring people who would like to enjoy themselves whilst working around Owls & other birds of prey.
We also provide places for Work Experience based on suitability.
When working closely with the birds, cleaning will be an important part of the management task so please be prepared to get your hands dirty.
If you have a strong stomach you can also help out with the daily food preparation that is needed for when the birds are taken out to be flown or trained.
During your time here, you will be able to join the bird team to fly some of the birds they work with, a great end to a supportive day.
We have a choice of working times that are gently spread over a 7 day period.
Mornings from 8.30am to 12.30pm - OR - Afternoons from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.
Spaces will be made available on a daily basis depending on spaces. Please note that the weekdays are just as important as the weekends.
Full support & training will be provided by our bird team.
If you are interested, please do not hesitate to call us on 01452 383999, the best time to call would be between 6pm to 9pm
