North East Essex Badger Group

The North East Essex Badger Group is one of over 80 such groups within theU K that are members of the National Federation of Badger Groups. The NFBG provides professional advice and represents badger groups in discussion with parliament, MAFF, other national organisations and the media.
The North East Essex Badger Group members are involved in all aspects of badger protection, such as:

  • Sett monitoring, recording and surveying.
  • Recovering badgers, dead or injured from road accidents.
  • Rescuing and rehabilitating injured or orphaned badgers.
  • Responding to threats to badgers, their setts or habitat.
  • Giving advice and assistance to landowners, the RSPCA, the Police and other responsible organisations dealing with badger related problems.
  • Giving illustrated talks on badgers to schools, clubs and all other interested bodies.
  • Surveying land areas earmarked for future development.
